Coleen R. Conklin Bio
Coleen is a believer in change and paints a picture of success for every challenge that comes her way. Her competitive spirit developed at a young age with years of playing sports, where she not only excelled, but also was continually placed in leadership roles. Coleen loves to travel and explore new cultures, which she first fell in love with when she studied abroad in Spain during college.
Those who know Coleen well will tell you she is uber-organized and loves to apply this skill to her work as well as projects at home. She has the keen ability to marry big picture thinking with flawless execution and she takes great pride in bringing this skill to every challenge. She has a love for fashion, and all things creative, which blossomed when she worked behind the scenes in the Women’s Collection Design Studio at Calvin Klein. That passion continues in her work in the retail, travel and other industries today.
Prior to starting GC Communications, Coleen served as an integral member of the senior management team of Simon as the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Premium Outlets, where she oversaw all global marketing and communications for some of the most recognized and profitable outlet shopping centers in the world, including Woodbury Common Premium Outlets (NY), Desert Hills Premium Outlets (CA) and Gotemba Premium Outlets (Japan). Her marketing savvy and involvement in all facets of the business contributed to year over year annual sales increases across the portfolio.
Coleen is admired for her integrity, compassion and ability to inspire and develop teams through collaboration and empowerment. She is passionate about leadership and relationship driven results and surrounds herself with outstanding talent who desire to succeed beyond expectations. Her collaborative approach helps her reach her ultimate goal for any brand – creating strategic partnerships to tell compelling stories – creative content, both visual and written – that inspire brand engagement and generate sales. Today, Coleen enjoys utilizing her marketing expertise and passion for success to take her clients’ business to the next level.
In her spare time, Coleen spends as much time as possible with her husband, their three daughters Audrey, Cate and Grace, and their large extended family. She is active in her community, including offering her services to charitable organizations such as One Simple Wish and Habitat for Humanity, and she resides on the board of the New Jersey American Marketing Association (AMA) as the Director of Programming.
